Abbotsbury is a beautiful village found on the Jurassic costal area of Dorset, just a few miles north west of Weymouth.
The village is famous for its swannery, subtropical gardens, Abbey and abbey barn, castle, St Catherine’s Chapel and the nearby Chesil Beach.
Abbotsbury Swannery is very unique as it is the only place on the planet where you are able to walk right through the centre of a colony of nesting Mute Swans. Abbotsbury Abbey is a ruin of an ancient Benedictine monastery, possibly the remains of the Abbots lodgings. The subtropical gardens feature over 20 acres of land filled with rare and exotic plants.
